Response:
Although women have made great contributions to this society, women's development in the male-dominated society continues to be limited. For women who want to get "power" and business success, they must recognize that barriers exist, and then make every effort to overcome.Do not wait for opportunity to come to you. Looking for opportunities in a proactive approach to seize. It is not what you say, but in what way you say. Hesitating to abandon the excuses with the internal details and subtle words, you should protect yourself effectively. To become a superstar, not a super woman. To learn the responsibility delegated to others, take your time and skills to focus on areas where you are interested. Find a company you can enter and determine the companies can ensure women's development. You should learn to break through the secular ideas and think creatively. Also, checking and removing the interpretation of self-derogatory and unnecessary apology, while you are training in the process of advancing a strong self-confidence and enthusiasm.

Lewis Pugh swims the North Pole

Summary:
In this video, Lewis Pugh talks about his swimming record across the North Pole. When he was young, his father had a great influence on him and always taught him to protect the world. Seven years ago, he first went to the North Pole, and since then every year he went to the beautiful place. But also he witnessed the changes that took place there, the ice decreased year by year. Due to the hard task, he had to assemble an incredible team to help him. So he carried a large amount of exercise training: swimming back and forth in the ice water. After a year of training, he and five team members boarded the ship with the icebreaker, moving to the Arctic. He remembered that there were big chunks of white ice when he looked into freezing; the water was completely black which he had never seen. Through the swimming expedition to the Arctic, Lewis pointed out three things we need to do. First, each country must reduce emissions; we must all be the same boat. The second thing is we need to review what we have made progress in environmental protection in the short time. Finally, we need to believe in ourselves to ensure that we all live in a sustainable world.

Response:
By Lewis Pugh's vision, we can see a beautiful Arctic. But how to protect the Arctic and the environment is a question worth pondering. It reminds me of the cute living animals in the Arctic, which are endangered now, the polar bears. It's necessary to understand the living conditions of endangered animals. Many endangered animals are at risk for their survival, such as polar bears are threatened by the loss of ice as it is their habitat. People should pay more attention to the protection of the endangered animals. For the issue to save polar bear, our situation may not be as pessimistic as previous estimated. As long as the effective implementation of greenhouse gas emission reduction policy, we may have the misfortune of polar bears away from extinction. The protection of rare animals is not limited in increasing its number; the meaning of protection is to protect the entire ecosystem. To this end, let us be kind to animals and create a good environment together.

Al Gore on averting climate crisis

Summary:
Al Gore is once the US Vice President that is committed to focus on the climate change. In this video, he is talking about what we can do about the climate crisis. He explains some ways that people can address climate change. He shows some images from a slide show that the new temperature records in January from USA. There is more global warming pollution that comes from buildings than from cars and trucks. He suggests inventing a better design; buy green electricity where you can. Considering what you can do at home to reduce emissions, most of these expenditures are also profitable. Think of some other better alternative, it is very important. As a green consumer, you have choices with everything you buy from having a harsh effect to a less harsh effect on the global climate crisis. Options before doing that as much as possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and also acquire for those who do not make the right decision to reduce the pollution. We support the call for global warming on carbon dioxide emissions and the concept of pollution. Also, there is a carbon calculator, you can calculate what your CO2 emissions are and be given options to reduce.

Response:
The impact of global warming has a direct relationship with human life. Excessive carbon dioxide emissions that cause climate change are now a great threat to the survival of humanity on the planet. Now people should increase the awareness of environmental protection. In our daily life, there are many ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. First, less use of private cars, choose to walk or take public transportation, so that not only exercise the body, but also a good way to low-carbon life. Then, use handkerchiefs instead of paper towels that may help the forests ‘protection. Furthermore, turning off lights, switch, pull the plug, and do not turn off electrical appliances frequently. Last, minimize the use of disposable toothbrush, disposable plastic bags and disposable cups. We need to work together to care for our planet. Let’s start from the side of the small things around us that make our life better: resource conservation and reducing energy consumption.

Greg Stone: Saving the ocean one island at a time

Summary:
In this video, Greg Stone tells the story of how he helped the Republic of Kiribati. He described a story by letting us know we are far behind on marine protected land. There isaneffect on global awareness. The ocean is opaque, and we can’t see what’s going on. And therefore we're way behind on protection. But scuba diving, submersiblesand all the work that we're setting about to do here will help rectify that. Phoenix Islands are the world's largest marine protected area in the mid-Pacific.The average depths are about 12,000 ft..There is an ecosystem called parrotfish spawning. About 5,000 long nose parrotfish are spawning at the entrance to one of the Phoenix Islands. And they also explored the surface of the Islands which is important bird nesting site in the world. Kiribati is located in the Central Pacific in three island groups. They basically are one nation that controls most of the equatorial waters of the Central Pacific ocean. The Islands rise only one to two meters above the surface. Some of the islands have already gone under water. And these nations are faced with a real problem. And what we need to do now is to protect the ocean and have self-sustaining over time.
Words: 212

Response:
The ocean resource is rich.As the increasing of the world population, there is a great contradiction between the huge population and the supply of resources.Development and utilization of the rich resources of the ocean is the inevitable trend of historical development. Ocean is one of the main factors why the climate on the planet changes and it is also a cornucopia of marine mineral resources. As we all know, the seven tenths of the Earth are oceans, so the marine conservation and protection is an important part of environmental protection. It is important to protect the valuable marine life such as endangered whales, turtles and manatees. Marine pollution is caused by many factors. Therefore focus only on individual governance is not really solving the problem of marine pollution. The main objective of the current marine conservation is to protect marine resources for sustainable human use.First, we should to stop the excessive use of the marine biological resources, and second we should to protect marine habitats. So we can have a more beautiful ocean than before.

Dan Barber: How I fell in love with a fish

Summary:
Dan Barber is the chef at New York's Blue Hill restaurant, where he practices a kind of close-to-the-land cooking married to agriculture and stewardship of the earth. In this video, Dan is talking about how to keep fish on the menu and maintain the sustainability. He has been exposed to a lot of fish in his life, but only two are his favourite: the first one is from the passion, the second fish is a different kind of love story. Due to some kinds of fish that we love will be extinct, aquaculture and fish farming are becoming part of our future. A farm that doesn't feed its animals, a farm measures its success on the health of its predators. What we need now is a new concept of agriculture, a real food. Today , billions of people are in empty stomach, the basic reason is that the uneven distribution of the whole is not counted by the tonnage. Our food today is being threatened, not because the supply is decreasing, but because the resources are decreasing. Farmers are no longer just a producer, but relationhips experts, because they are also experts on taste.

Response:
Recent years, the growth of modern fisheries becomes a necessary requirement of economic and social development. As the world population increases and the quality of life continuously improves, the extent of human dependence on fisheries is also growing. The development of the ecological balance of human life has a great impact on the future. Not only the human but also some animals are suffering from hunger. The environmental problems are most deserving of our attention. More and more people become the environmental volunteers and make people concern about the destruction of the ecological environment. As for me, I cherish the environment we live in which we can get close to each other and love one another. We should take measures to reduce the environmental degradation by human causes. Just like Dan with his favourite fish, We should live in harmony with the environment and get along well with all the species, especially endangered animals.

Rebecca Saxe: How we read each other's minds

Summary:
In this video, Rebecca is talking about how it is easy to know other minds. Her study field is in cognitive neuroscienceis that can help us to understand people's ideas and have the ability to think. She shows three steps in her study: the discovery of a brain region for thinking about other people's thoughts, some observations on the slow development of the brain system and some differences between people in how we judge others. There is a brain region called RTPJ that children use to think about people. It's different from adults, the brain region in adults is completely specialized. But both of the children and the adult's brain systems are continuing slowly to develop. And the differences in this brain region can explain differences among adults in how we think about and judge other people. So far we know that the brain system can be applied to animals, so we can study the model of some animals. We need to know what the brain can see, how it is to control the body's and also what they hear and feel. The study is brand new that can help us to understand how our brains control our thoughts and think other people's thoughts.
Words:205

Response:
The ability to understand other people's thoughts is amazing. We can understand people's intentions through research and it can make the communication more easily. Although it is not an accurate understanding of other people's ideas, it still give us an opportunity to learn the community through the human mind. It's beneficial to our lives. By understanding how people think you can prevent fraud and reduce crimes. So that people can live safer and more comfortable. Also, if you understand what people think, espeially when you fall in love with someone, you do not need to worry about he/she would lie to you. Similarly, when you understand the children's ideas, you can get along well with children and they will trust you more. As the video said, animals also have similar brain system with human, people can understand their pets more and give them a better living environment. Can you imagine that if we can read people's minds how the relationship will be in our society.
